White Oak Stamp Campsite to Standing Indian Summit

5.6 miles

Total miles 87.4

Today was not as tough as yesterday. However, there were a lot more rocks than I expected. Every rock is training for the rocks of Pennsylvania. I got a good, early start in the morning and finished by early afternoon.  I would have pushed on, but the next shelter was too far away.

Getting water here was a BIG deal. The water source was down a steep hill and it was supposed to be a piped spring. Usually a piped spring means the water source is fairly easy to access. This piped spring had a tube from a hardware store shoved into the hillside. Unfortunately, the tube had broken loose and the water was just trickling. I tried to reinsert the tube but it didn't work. I ended up with a Cnoc water bag filled with brown water, due to the soil scooped up with the water. My Sawyer Squeeze water filter is a wonder. It filtered out the dirt and my water looked reasonably clean.

I had my dinner eaten by 3pm and just settled in for the evening.  I hope my headaches go away and I'm able to sleep better. I tried to drink more water today.

I was the only tent here for hours. Now there are a bunch. I don't mind,, it's nice to have company and meet new people. It does make it harder to go to the bathroom, lol.
